Mark Semmelbeck, Ph.D. has over 30 years of petroleum engineering experience, primarily in reservoir engineering and stimulation. He has evaluated and implemented projects in most of the major producing basins in the U.S. and has focused on the South Texas and Texas Gulf Coast regions for the past 10 years.
Mark was also a founding partner of Escondido Resources II, LLC and its predecessor, Escondido Resources, LP. Before joining Escondido, he was a founding partner of Battlecat Oil & Gas, LLP. Prior to forming Battlecat, Mark spent approximately 15 years working for Holditch & Associates, Inc., and its successor, Schlumberger, one of the leading stimulation and production enhancement firms in the world. He has authored numerous papers and delivered technical presentations on reservoir simulation and fracture stimulation.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University. He earned Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University.
Kurt von Plonski, P.E. has more than 30 years of petroleum engineering experience, primarily in completion and production engineering and operations. For the majority of his career, he has focused on the South Texas, East Texas and Texas Gulf Coast regions.
Kurt was also a founding partner of Escondido Resources II, LLC and its predecessor, Escondido Resources, LP. In 1999, he was a founding partner of Battlecat Oil & Gas, LLP.
Prior to Battlecat, Kurt founded Sentry Technologies, Inc., and currently serves as the company’s Chairman. Kurt was the creator and innovator of Sentry’s group of remote production optimization products. Kurt also worked as a consultant in the drilling, completion, stimulation and workover aspects of the oil and gas industry.
Kurt received his Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
Jamie Liang has 15 years of experience in finance and investment banking, and has been involved in over $20 billion of transactions throughout his career. His experience includes debt and equity capital raising, project and structured finance, public finance, and mergers and acquisitions advisory.
Prior to Battlecat, Jamie served as a Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), primarily focused on energy and infrastructure financings. While at BAML, he was responsible for originating and executing over $7 billion of structured natural gas transactions. Previously, Jamie was an Associate at UBS Investment Bank.
Jamie is a member of Houston Producer’s Forum, Houston Energy Finance Group, ADAM-Houston, and IPAA. He received a B.A. in Economics from Rice University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
